Weekend in Batavia...
Josh and I went to Batavia (or as we like to call it Bat-ah-vee-ah...long story) for the weekend to see Nic, Tim, Zubin, and as an added bonus, we got to spend some time with Nic's mom as well.
We left on Saturday morning at the ass-crack of dawn (around 7:30), at least for a Saturday anything that early is considered that, and made the trek into the States. The drive in was uneventful, but of course, I had to make abeeline pit-stop into Bath and Bodyworks as soon as we got to the Galleria.
Once I was finished there, and Josh was successfully weighed down with two large bags, we were on our way to Batavia!
I couldn't believe how big Zubin had gotten since we had last seen him. He's walking up a storm now and talking and just so freaking cute...OOF!
We sat around and talked for a bit and headed off for lunch and then off for a bit more shoppy goodness. I was SO happy, I got a pair of jeans that actually fit. I have the hardest time finding jeans because of my height, they're always too short...
Anyways, after that, we walked around the mall some more and took Zubin into the pet store and he was mesmerized by the animals. He kept trying to say the animals names and he actually said "turtle"!
We went to dinner to the Macaroni Grill where they have REALLY freaking addictive bread. The meal was ok (but WAY too big), but they can't make a brown cow to save their life. I mean really, they had to consult a manual to figure it out. The waitress came to the table and said "They don't have all the ingredients to make it". I asked "Which ones? The milk or the kahlua?" She said "Oh, that's all that goes into it? I'll tell them." Wow...Technically, if you want to be a purist, you can sprinkle nutmeg on the top, but I've yet to be in a place that's done that...
After dinner we went to see Batman (again) Josh and I saw it on Friday, but it was THAT good, that we wanted to see it a second time. If you haven't seen it yet, go see it.
Sunday morning we had a breakfast buffet at the hotel and as we were going in, Zubin looked at Tim and said "Poppa". Ohh the cuteness! We sat around and shmoozed for a couple hours and talked about families...oh the stories... ;)
After that I had to do some more shoppy goodness and I bought this at Macy's...
How could I not? It was on sale for 30% off, then I got an additional 11% off because I'm an out of town visitor...

One of these things is not like the other...
Ok, now I've read a lot of stories about how high gas prices are these days, but honestly would ANY of you do this? I mean, sure for shits and giggles, or perhaps if you're debating between a couple of names and you can't decide...but seriously? Good lord!
I'll wait a moment while you digest this...
Now, toss out your best shot for our daughter's name. So far the best ones are Euphagenia (strong contender) and Little Maple Crunch...and you might win something! Since we have absolutely no imagination at all, we want you, that's right...we want YOU to name our daughter.*
*Yes, this post is dripping with sarcasm, but sadly that story above is true...

Holy...duck!
Although that's not the way I'd personally say it, but considering who this LIDiversary is honouring, I figured the title says it all. ;)
Well, it's that time again...time to celebrate another LIDiversary. What better way topack on the poundage add another month, than to mark it with a swiss chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream cake. Yeah, you heard me! Read it and weep ladies... ;)
The sad thing about this is, the candles are so freaking old (given the wait) that the wax has actually changed colour between the two 2s. Look closely and you'll see. (Yes, they were bought at the same time, but one was kept in it's packaging until today.)

Stinky people...rejoice! ;)
Bath and Body Works is opening in Toronto in the Fall! I just called up their customer service hotline (and talked to someone who knew a bit more about Canadian geography).
She told me the two locations...Fairview Mall and Yorkdale. WOO!
(Yes, I get just a wee bit excited over soap, don't mind me...)

An update on the flood...
Well, we got some quotes, and none of them were the same. Go figure...
We decided to go with one company for everything (waterproofing, regrading and the interlocking), this way it's one ass to kick if anything goes wrong. Also, it's one company that knows what's going on, rather than having two or three, having to discuss things back and forth. We're hopefully thinking this is the right way to do things.
Anyways, we've decided that since we need to go ahead and fix the cracks AND regrade the backyard, we're also going to redo the interlocking bricks in the back and at the front of the house. Woo.
We may as well do everything now, it needs to be done...
I think we'll lick our wounds and redo the interlock at the side next year or something...or cry. ;)
The thing that sucks badly (besides the mucho dinero) is that I'm going to lose my garden boxes when they start doing all the repairs. Oh well. It DID look nice for a while.
