Boston Pizza follow-up and other things.

I heard back from Boston Pizza today and this is what they said...

Hello to you, author of the ‘Little Maple’ blog.

Yes, you caught us. We were tracking online mentions of the term Boston Pizza and we went to your site to see what was happening. Turns out I was in for a wilder ride than I anticipated!

In any case, I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to Boston Pizza and I’m glad you were patient with me as I lightly dipped my toes into the blog scene. And no, I really don’t think you stole our forks.

I’d like to say thanks to you as well – if you are willing to send me your address, I’d be happy to send you a few coupons for some free pizzas during your next visit to BP.

All the best in your future blogging efforts. Hopefully you’ll see more from us in the near future!

Cheers,

Ryan

Sooooo...who wants to go to Boston Pizza? Dinner, apparently, is on them. :P

---

I was leaving the house to go out to lunch with my mom and her boyfriend, when I decided to go across the street to get the mail. We live in an area where we have super mailboxes (sounds like a superhero for nerds). :P

Anyways, I was gingerly walking across the street and making sure to look both ways. I got to the other side, checked the box for mail and was making my way back when I fell on the ice. I fell in such a way that I was half on the ice and half in the road. I bonked my head and twisted my back, but other than that, I'm fine.

Would you think that ANY of the cars that passed me (in my sprawled out state) stopped to help me? Nooooo. I have a few crisp words for people like that...

Cool about the coupons. Gotta love free pizza!

I'm glad that you didn't injure yourself more seriously!

And I cannot believe not one person stopped to see if you were okay. Last month I saw an elderly lady fall off of the curb into the road while waiting at the bus stop and I turned the corner, stopped the car, and got out to see if she was alright.

Some people just weren't raised right!

Ack! Glad you aren't too seriously hurt. And what is WITH people not stopping? At least you can enjoy pizza while you nurse your bruises.

Way to go with the coupons. Enjoy the free pizza.

Sorry to hear about the fall but I am so glad you weren't seriously hurt. It is sad that many people don't stop to help others in need.

you know.... hate it when people dont stop to help. Last year I was on my way to work in a storm when I saw a car slide on the ice and spin out of control down the bank and into a signpost...it was RUSH HOUR....nine cars went past her without stopping...I stopped, called 911, stayed with her until the police and ambulance came.

My employer docked my pay for the hour I was late...even though I told her that I stopped to help in an accident.

This is why people don't stop...because we live in a time when people want to know 'what's in it for them'

On the flip side, when I was in NZ on holiday, my luggage cart turned over and at least 6 hefty strong guys came running to help...

I hope your back is okay...I hate ice, our driveway looks like a skating rink right now!

there's always free pizza to take the edge off!
