Fun in Fort Erie (part two)

Soon after we were seated, Kim and Don showed up. Nic had told me a little about them, and how they're adopting their son, D, from the Ukraine. In fact, they leave in a little under a month to go and get him!

Prior to meeting Kim and Don, Nic had mentioned that Don was a sailor. Well, Josh and I were both thinking she meant that he was in the Navy, so Josh (who is into naval pursuits because of his job) started asking him all sorts of questions about what ship he serves on, where he's stationed, etc...only to be told that he has a 30 foot boat. He sails...he's not a sailor. Oops.

We finally got around to looking at the menu and we each ordered a dish (or two) and oh...my...g-d was it GOOD. I'm not one to throw around compliments, but WOW. We're definitely going to have to go back there!

Nic got us a little pressie for "Little Maple", it's the cutest little bib that says "Kosher for Passover". After oohing and aahing over it, I gave it back to her to hold on to it for us. (She knows that we're not getting anything for our daughter prior to referral, so she has a box at home that she's labelled her "Rhonda box" and puts things in it for us). She's too sweet. :)

After dinner, we walked by the Niagara River, talked some more and made plans (and look forward to) seeing each other again in a few weeks. We're such social butterflies. ;)
