Donna again. Just a quick post.....I'm heading up to the cottage for the weekend, but please continue to post your questions and I will respond on Monday. Sorry I didn't get around to answering any today - it's been a busy day.
Kathy, not sure why you think CB won't let you switch to the waiting children's program?? That's not true at all, but there definitely is more to it than just "switching". I'll explain on Monday - I have to pick my daughter up from school - sorry!!!

Donna - I am with Kathy as I too was told by CB that if we wanted SN we had to do it at the very beginning and we were NOT allowed to switch midstream...

From the November 17, 2006 Weekly Newsletter:
"Families considering the Waiting Children’s Program – “Green Stream” - must start the process at the time of their home study. We are not able to switch files to the Green Stream once you have been logged in at the CCAA."
That was my understanding too Kathy. Maybe there was a mis-cimmunication. Oh wouldn't that be cool?!?!
We are with a different agency and they told us the same thing about changing to SN. As well, we are in BC and we started out with a domestic adoption. When we wanted to go to China to adopt, we weren't able to stay on the domestic list.

Why do you think the children being referred right now are so very young? Our LID is March 1 , 2006 and when we started, the children seemed older. Just wondered if it is my perception or if the children are actually younger. Thanks again.

I also was under the same belief as kathy.
We approached another Cb facilitator in March of/06 in regards of switching to SN and were advised that we were to far into the process at that point(meaning we would probably have a NSN referral before the paper work would be switched over and ready for a SN referral).

I am assuming the the younger referrals (I think we are all noticing this...in fact one of my friends was just referred a 5 month old)are an indication of the lack of babies available for adoption relevant to the amount of dossiers that the CCAA has. Just my thoughts.
